Click here to buy the screen for HP PROBOOK 640 G4

Tools

For the replacement process we'll need the following tools: a Plastic Pick and X-acto knife

Shut down the laptop

To begin turn the laptop off and disconnect the power cord

Remove the bezel

Start by removing the bezel. Insert a plastic pick between the bezel and an LCD.
Move the pick around the perimeter unsnapping the tabs underneath. Put the bezel aside

Remove four screws

The screen is held in place by four Phillips screws in the corners. Remove the screws
and place the screen on the keyboard

Disconnect the video cable

Using plastic pick and fingers peel off the clear tape securing the video connector. Open the
connector's bracket. Disconnect the video cable and discard the old screen

Connect the new screen

Place the new screen on the keyboard. Reconnect the video cable. Close the connector's
bracket and secure it with clear tape. CAUTION! It is very important not to force any of the
connectors. As well you must not twist or slant the connector when plugging it in

Reinstall the new screen

Lift the screen up and replace the four Phillips screws in the corners

Replace the bezel

Go around the perimeter pressing firmly to snap the tabs back in place.
Turn the laptop and move the plastic pick along the bottom edge making sure that bezel
is snapped in its place
